Float valves and controllers that keep a pond or fountain at the right level through summer evaporation.
Summer evaporation can drop a pond by an inch or more in a week. If the level falls below the skimmer, the pump runs dry and the whole system fails. An auto-fill valve prevents that by topping up the pond as it falls.
We install float valves, overflow outlets and optional controllers. The fill line is connected to a clean water supply through a backflow preventer where required, and we add an overflow so the pond does not overfill if the valve sticks.
A float senses the water level. When the level drops, the valve opens and adds water until the float rises again. It works much like a toilet tank.
A water supply connected to a pond needs protection so pond water cannot flow back into the house supply. We use the required devices and follow local plumbing rules.
An overflow pipe or notch carries excess water to a safe place. It protects against a stuck valve and against heavy rain.
We pour in extra water on startup to confirm the overflow works. A tested overflow protects the pond in a storm and with a stuck valve.

Often yes. Rules vary by area, and we follow the local requirements.
Slow top-ups of small amounts are generally tolerated, but a dechlorinating filter can be added for extra safety.
