Find where a pond or waterfall is losing water, then fix it at the source without rebuilding more than needed.
A pond that drops a few inches a week is telling you something. Some of that is evaporation, which is normal in a Tennessee summer, but a steady loss that continues in cool weather points to a leak. Finding it is a process of elimination, and it is much faster when someone does it systematically.
We measure the loss, check the pump and plumbing, test the waterfall and the skimmer and then see where the level stops falling. That level is the height of the leak. Once we know where it is, we repair the liner, reseat a stone, replace a fitting or rebuild a section as needed.
A simple bucket test compares the loss from a bucket of water with the loss from the pond. If the pond falls much faster, there is a leak. We can run the test for you.
Common culprits are waterfall edges, a liner pulled below the water by settling or a plant root, skimmer seals and plumbing joints. Each has its own test, and we work through them in order.
Patching a liner, resealing a skimmer or replacing a cracked pipe are all quick when you know where to look. If a liner is old and brittle, we explain when replacement is wiser than patching.
A leak of a few gallons a day can go unnoticed for months. Marking the water level with a pencil line and checking it weekly is the easiest way to spot trouble early.

In hot, dry weather ponds can lose an inch or more a week to evaporation. A bigger loss, or one that continues in cool weather, suggests a leak.
Often yes, by lowering the level gradually and watching where it stops. Draining is a last resort.
No. Waterfalls, skimmers and plumbing are common causes, and many leaks are found outside the liner.
Small punctures can be patched with the right kit. For larger damage or deep leaks, a professional repair holds better.
Mark the level and check it over several cool, calm days.
