Waterfall Flow and Sound Planner

Enter the weir width and the look you want and see the gallons per hour for a thin, medium or full sheet of water.

These tools give planning-level estimates from typical values. They are not quotes, designs or engineering, and results depend on your actual soil, depth, access, local rules and conditions. Only a visit can confirm what a job needs, and we give you a clear price before any work begins.

How it works

Four quick steps.

  1. 01

    Set the weir width

The lip the water pours over, in inches.

  2. 02

    Pick the look

From a quiet trickle to a bold sheet.

  3. 03

    Set the height and steps

Taller falls splash louder; steps soften them.

  4. 04

    Read the flow

Gallons per hour at the top of the fall.

Tips

  • A wide, low fall whispers. A tall, narrow fall splashes.
  • A level weir gives an even sheet.
  • A valve lets you tune the sound after the pump is in.
Questions

About this tool.

Is this exact?

No. It is a planning guide. Stone, the pool below and how level the weir is also change the sound.

How much flow per inch of weir?

Roughly fifty to two hundred gallons per hour per inch, depending on the sheet you want.

Can I change it later?

Yes. A flow valve and a few lip stones change the sound without rebuilding.
